Entertainment: Lady Gaga performance moves to Sydney Entertainment center
Dec 20th
Lady Gaga’s Sydney performances scheduled to take place at the Hordern Pavilion in March 2010 will now be held at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

Business: A$6billion project won by Lend Lease
Dec 20th
Lend Lease Group, Australia’s largest developer, beat Brookfield Multiplex to win the right to build the 430,000 square meter (4.6 million square foot) Barangaroo development, just west of Sydney’s city center.
The A$6 billion ($5.3 billion) project, adjacent to the Millers Point and Walsh Bay heritage sites, will create more than 3,000 jobs during construction and 20,000 afterwards, New South Wales Premier Kristina Keneally said in a statement.
“This Barangaroo design will cement Sydney as an innovative and global city as well as the financial hub of the Asia Pacific,” Keneally said.
The winning bidder is likely to pay more than A$500 million for the land alone, the Australian Financial Review said in September 2008. Rating companies Moody’s Investors Service and Standard & Poor’s said last week they may downgrade Lend Lease to junk on concerns about the company’s debt levels.

Victory striker Archie Thompson hit the bar in the second minute and put four other good chances either wide or within reach of Sydney goalkeeper Clint Bolton.
“The shots were 21 shots to six, but we weren’t accurate – it wasn’t good-quality shooting,” Melbourne coach Ernie Merrick said. More >
